7 1/4 Inch Forney
The Forney design was originally developed for use on the elevated railroads in New York and Chicago, it had a short wheel base to take the sharp curves with a truck under the tank to increase stability. The result was a very versatile locomotive design, and although soon replaced by electric traction on the elevated suburban lines, it rapidly proved popular with other railroads.
In particular the narrow gauge 2ft lines in Main took to the Forney, improving it still further with the addition of an extra pony truck at the front. Our model is based on this final incarnation of the design.The model is large enough for the driver to sit on the tank when driving.
Special care has been taken to get the controls as close as possible to full size practice, the driving experience should be as good as the real thing! This is a large powerful locomotive and a pleasure to drive, invoking the atmosphere of a bygone era in narrow gauge short line working.
We have the standard 2-4-4 Forney or 2-4-0 with 8 wheel tender versions of this model, available as a kit or ready to run version.

Goods are sent by the cheapest method appropriate to the size of the package anywhere in the world. This will generally be (UK post) post or carriers standard overnight service. (Europe and the rest of the world) post or carriers standard 7day service. Items in excess of 600mm (2ft) all sheet material and castings will incur additional packing, which must be allowed for. We cannot accept liability for loss or damage unless notified immediately and confirmed in writing within 7 working days of the date of dispatch.
Delivery cost will be calculated by weight, by that we mean you only pay for the weight of the item you buy, Prices will be to door no matter what part of the world you are in, Prices will be shown in the currency you set your system to ie £GBP, $USD, €EURO.

CANCELLATIONS & RETURNS
The cancellation of any order or service within 7 working days will not incur a penalty. This period runs from the day the contract is concluded for services & the day after the day of delivery for goods. After this all order & services will be subject to a 20% administration charge. Defective items will be replaced free of charge; any other item returned to us will incur a restocking charge of 20%. We do not supply books on approval.
