7 1/4 Inch Gauge Opal

The Hunslet Engine Company of Leeds entered the narrow gauge market as early as 1870, supplying many side and saddle tank locomotives to ironstone and slate quarries, particularly in Wales.

The model represents a typical Hunslet of the period with feedwater side tanks, and enclosed cab. The rear cab panel is removable to provide access to the cab when driving.

This is a lovely example of the Maxitrak Opal, finished to a high standard, purchased originally as a kit but returned to us to be painted and commisioned.  In good mechanical condition, it has seen very little use. Some features include brass dome, mechanical lubricator and crosshead pump.

This would be a lovely addition to anyones collection.
